Orders placed with Net Terms are not processed through the Shopify checkout. That means wholesale customers using this option will not receive a confirmation for their order on the order status page. Instead, they will be sent to the Net Orders Thank You page to confirm their order.
If you’ve set net orders to come in as final orders, your wholesale customers will receive email confirmation from your store. However, if you've set net orders to come in as drafts, your wholesale customers will not receive email confirmation until you manually send one through the Shopify admin. Click here for more information on configuring Net Terms orders.
To improve the customer experience and ensure that your customers understand that their order has been received, consider customizing the Net orders thank you page.
Customize your Net Terms Thank You page
The Net Orders Thank You page can be found in your Shopify admin (Sales channels > Online store > Pages) and can be updated at any time.
By default, the page will be titled Net Orders Thank You and will simply read “Thank you for your net payment order”. Use the rich text editor to change the title and content of the page to better reflect your brand and share any information relevant to wholesale customers.
Do you need to manually approve and make changes to orders before fulfillment? If so, update your Net orders thank you page to let your wholesale customers know that orders are subject to approval and that the invoice they receive may not match the price of the order they submitted.
For more information on how to use Shopify rich text editor, have a look at their guide or get in touch with their support team.
Page templates
You can also customize the Net Orders Thank You page by changing the page template. Many Shopify themes include templates for contact pages so that your wholesale customers can easily reach out to you with any questions as soon as they’ve placed their order using Net Terms.
To add a contact form to your Net Orders Thank You page, select the page.contact template suffix in the page editor.
URL and handle
Do not update the URL and handle of your Net Orders Thank You page as it has been coded into your theme. If the URL and handle are updated, your customers will not be sent to the correct page when they check out with Net Terms. All other aspects of the page can be changed, including title, content, and template.
